It’s 'Wellie Wednesday' at Frontier

24th January 2018

Today, 24th January 2018 the Frontier team is taking part in a company-wide day of charity fundraising.

As part of work under The Responsible Choice to support mental health charities and initiatives Frontier has declared today: ‘Wellie Wednesday’.

On Wellie Wednesday the team at Frontier and its divisions SOYL and Kings will proudly wear their wellies to work – some of them customised - in return for a donation to charity.

Although many roles at Frontier involve the regular wearing of wellies – agronomists, farm traders, grain samplers etc. - people from right across the business are joining in; even those in support roles with rarely a need to don a welly!

Wellie Wednesday is part of Frontier’s ongoing work to support mental health charities and raise awareness of the challenges around this issue both in agriculture and in the wider workplace.

Sharon Kennett, marketing director and chair of The Responsible Choice steering group explains: “We had such a great response from colleagues and growers to our work during Mental Health Awareness Week (#MHAW17) last year that we wanted to build on that enthusiasm and organise more fundraising events.  Wellie Wednesday is a result of that ongoing enthusiasm and we’ve committed to take part in #MHAW18 this year too.”

Last year money raised during MHAW17 was split among agricultural charities operating under the umbrella Farming Help : Addington Fund, The Farming Community Network, and the R.A.B.I (Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution) and RSABI (formerly known as the Royal Scottish Agricultural Benevolent Institution).

This year Frontier will support an even broader range of charities including a number of national mental health charities: SANE, Anxiety UK, BEAT and MIND.

Mental Health Awareness Week 2018 runs from 14th – 20th May #MHAW18
