At this year’s CropTec, Frontier Agriculture will return with the theme of optimising decision-making, linking visitors to a range of services and solutions that can be tailored to suit the individual needs of their businesses.
“Core to this is the use of digital tools and analytics, helping farmers to benchmark performance, work more efficiently, monitor the cost of production and capture trends, as well as take a more targeted approach through the use of precision technology”, says Frontier’s head of commercial for the central and eastern teams, Robert Preston.
Frontier’s team will also share how the tools are supporting farmers to capture and interpret their farm insights to support evidence-based decisions.
“Our advisors will provide interactive demonstrations to show exactly how our suite of tools can be used to support farm management activity, such as environmental record-keeping and performance measurement, variable rate applications, grain trading, nutrient mapping and more.”
Market outlook seminar: ‘Fertiliser markets and forward planning’
At this year’s event, senior fertiliser business development manager, Finley Hawkins, will join CropTec’s Market Outlook panel session on day two with a talk on fertiliser market trends and considerations for the 2024/25 season.
“Off the back of a difficult season, questions as to what nutrition strategies should look like for the spring will be front of mind for many farmers,” says Finley.
“Last season proved the importance of good crop establishment and early root growth to ensure subsequent nutrient uptake is maximised. This means it’s vital to assess planned nitrogen rates for crop 2025.
“Reviewing historic applications and offtake is more important than ever. We’ve seen again how crucial it is to look at your overall nutrition strategy and be prepared to adapt and amend based on the season as it develops,” Finley concludes.
Covering market drivers and impacts on purchasing decisions, Finley will revisit the challenges and trends of recent years before looking ahead other considerations such as more sustainable input programmes and funding opportunities.
Finley will be speaking at 2.30pm – 3.30pm in The Profit Theatre.
CropTec will be held on 27th and 28th November 2024 at the NAEC Stoneleigh in Warwickshire. Frontier can be found in Hall 2 on Stand 214, also featuring on the CropTec BASIS knowledge trail, with visitors able to earn points in return for completing a technical quiz.To find out more about the event or to register for your free pass, visit www.croptecshow.com
