With harvest upon us once more, there's never been a better time to download the Frontier app. Its easy, direct access to important live data gives growers the opportunity to manage their business quickly and efficiently on the move when the pressure is on.
Linked to iTrac, the Frontier business system used by thousands of customers, it enables customers to manage their business from the field when time is most precious. It offers the ability to view planned and actual grain and crop input movements including grain load quality analysis, grain sample and load results, invoices and account balances, all designed to help growers better manage the sale and execution of their grain.
Andrew Flux, commercial director for Frontier, says, "The app gives the farmer the ability to see all of his interactions with Frontier, whether that be grain movements, chemical deliveries, the weather, soil temperatures or market prices; it's all available on their tablet or mobile phone. The app is connected to Frontier's systems, so anything that we have, the customer can see and they can see it instantly."
Launched less than a year ago, over 1600 growers have already downloaded the app. Herefordshire farmer, Will Watkins, says: "The Frontier app gives me lots of information at my fingertips. First thing in the morning I start the app up and I can see the lorry movements, which allows me to plan the day and makes the farm more productive. The finances section helps me to keep up to date and manage my cash flow a bit better. If I have a question, I can answer it myself using my phone. Really it just saves me time and time is valuable."
Andrew concludes, "It will be especially useful during harvest as it provides quick and easy access to grain load quality information which will enable growers to act quickly to match consumer specifications. The availability of this data while on the move is sure to make a positive difference to the running of the business at such a busy time of year."
Available on BlackBerry, Apple and Android platforms for mobile phones and tablets, the app also features world grain and currency markets, up to date local agronomic weather information and regular news and advice.
