Kings Game Cover and Conservation Crops has confirmed that it has completed a deal to acquire the business of Country Plan Ltd. With immediate effect, Country Plan will trade as Kings Game Cover and Conservation Crops.
Country Plan has provided products and advice to landowners and gamekeepers covering all aspects of conservation, environmental stewardship and game cover since 2006.
Clive Wood, who set Country Plan up and has agreed the deal with Kings, says of the changes: 'I believe this is a great move for us and our customers. It will allow us to continue to support them whilst also ensuring the long term security and growth of our business. Being part of Kings, and of course Frontier Agriculture, means we'll have access to a much wider range of products, services and expertise. Kings has also demonstrated a commitment to the future of our industry through their encouragement of landowners and managers to support the Campaign for the Farmed Environment and the various stewardship schemes that are available.'
Richard Barnes, Manager for Kings adds: 'We have a strategy at Kings to grow our business by providing the very best advice along with a comprehensive range of products. To do that well, we need to ensure we continue to have the people in place with the right skills and experience in the highly specialised field that we operate. Clive's technical knowledge of game cover and conservation crop management is second to none, particularly in providing advice to customers in their decision making process when applying for Entry Level (ELS) or Higher Level (HLS) stewardship agreements.
'This is an exciting deal for both parties and I'm delighted to welcome Clive to Kings, I know he will be a great asset to us and our customers.'
Clive will be based at Cranswick in East Yorkshire but takes up the position of Business Development Manager, a role with UK wide responsibility.
