Frontier Agriculture has donated £20 on behalf of each of its 1,000 employees to the Trussell Trust, a charity working to end UK hunger and poverty, for the second consecutive year.
January 2022
Split between eight UK food banks, the donation was made over the Christmas period and matches Frontier’s contribution to the charity in December 2020. The receiving food banks were selected individually by employees and are located near to Frontier sites in Lincoln, Bedford, West Berkshire, Waveney, Market Drayton, York, Aberdeen South and East Lothian.
“The last couple of years have been exceptionally challenging,” says Frontier managing director, Mark Aitchison. “We in the agricultural industry have been fortunate enough to continue operating a full service to our farmer customers as part of the food production supply chain. However, we’re aware that many businesses, families and individuals have suffered the negative impacts of the pandemic and that there has been a significant increase in reliance on food banks as a result.
“A number of Frontier colleagues volunteer at Trussell Trust food banks across the country and we are pleased to be in a position to donate to them again this year. We hope our donation will play a part in helping them to continue to provide vital support to those who need it most.
"Sharing our success and doing the right thing is embedded in our culture and fits naturally with our sustainability initiative, The Responsible Choice,” Mark concludes. To find out more about Frontier’s work under The Responsible Choice, visit www.frontierag.co.uk/about/trc.
